consideration the method of selection
in this country of candidates for
appointment to the staff of Hong
Kong University.
2. It will be within your
knowledge that, when from time to
time requests have been received
for the recruitment in this country,
on behalf of the University Council,
of professors and Lecturers or
Readers for the University, it has
been the practice for the selections
to be undertaken sometimes by the
Appointments Department at the
Colonial Office and sometimes by
the Board of Education.
